Matt Beall, a collector with a knack for jaw-dropping finds, brought his pre-dynastic stone vases—granite and basalt stunners carved with precision that’d make a modern lathe jealous. I held one, and holy cow, it was unreal. Smooth as glass, perfectly round, and balanced like it was 3D-printed. Matt’s 3D scans show tolerances down to thousandths of an inch—thousandths! I’m over here wondering how they nailed that with stone tools.
