Today I visit the Delta Sky Club in the T concourse before hopping a round trip to Reagan National in Washington, DC.

Not that I get too many miles on this trip since ATL to DCA is only about an hour; I chose this over hanging out at the Renaissance Concourse Hotel waiting for Matt to get off work. Watching planes is fun, but flying is better!

My flight was scheduled for early morning, so it provided a great chance to visit a Sky Club. There are many clubs in Atlanta, of course, with today’s departure out of T2, I chose the Club near T6. I’ve been to a several Clubs among the various airports served by Delta (Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Atlanta, and Seattle) as a member, and almost all of them feel newly renovated with clean white features, chrome highlights, and blue accent lighting.

The Clubs provide a nice get away from the concourse buzz, and this morning I used it to get some breakfast. We can call this the yellow breakfast with orange juice, scrambled eggs, and a banana – all gluten free choices, of course!

Today’s aircraft is an Airbus A321, and as I state in the introduction, my personal flying preference is flying on an A320 series when in economy. I find more width between the arm rest and the interior fuselage. Every little bit of room counts in economy; I think this is the main reason that the extra legroom seats most carriers offer these days are so successful. I value the extra room and regularly pay the upgrade to sit in these seats.

I was hoping to get some scenic views of the Eastern USA, but alas, the clouds dominated. Thankfully Delta provides seat back IFE; I watched “The MEG” – not a bad time filler when there’s a sky full of clouds!

Flight details

Stay tuned for next week’s entry where I visit the Club in DCA and the flight back to Atlanta. Happy Travels!
